has gloss	eng: Bashshit (, also Beshshit) was a Palestinian Arab village located southwest of Ramla about half a mile from Wadi Bashshit. Archaeological artifacts from the village attest to habitation in the Early Islamic period and 12th and 13th centuries CE. Mentioned by Arab geographers from the 13th century onward, there was a tomb for the Neby Shit ("prophet Seth") in the village.

has gloss	heb: בשית (בערבית بشّيت) היה כפר ערבי במישור חוף יהודה בין גדרה לקיבוץ יבנה, בגובה 66 מטר מעל פני הים. הכפר היה שייך לנפת רמלה מחוז לוד (1945), שטחי אדמותיו היו 18,553 דונם ובשנת 1945 מנה 1620 נפשות . במלחמת העצמאות במהלך מבצע ברק ב-11 במאי 1948 הכפר נכבש והתרוקן מתושביו.
