| has gloss | eng: "Buck Rogers" is a song performed by the British rock band Feeder. It was written by frontman and lead guitarist Grant Nicholas for the bands breakthrough album Echo Park. The song was originally written by Grant for an American band called Radio Star, but the bands label and producer Gil Norton liked the song and convinced the band that it could be a hit for them. It later became a cult classic despite leaving the top 40 only after 4 weeks and entering the UK charts at #5, meaning that the single exceeded expectations set out by the record label and the media. It is seen by many fans of British rock music as an iconic rock song of 2001 and a festival anthem, as a result it is still played on UK radio today. It was also performed by the band at the Live 8 concert in Edinburgh. |
