As the whole coastal zone of Pontevedra, Canelas has an oceanic climate characterized by abundant rains and soft temperatures. It is protected from the winds of the north, because the place is orientated towards the south. Waves are small enough, but with the arrival of temporary some they increase considerably, managing to be a place for the raw surfers, owed also to the rock absence in the center of the beach. The beach has a length of 400 m. According to the last IGE, in the year 2007 it had 39 inhabitants (21 men and 18 women).

Al igual que toda la zona costera de Pontevedra, Canelas tiene un clima atlántico, caracterizado por abundantes lluvias y temperaturas suaves. Se encuentra protegido de los vientos del norte, debido a que el lugar está orientado hacia el sur. Las olas son bastante pequeñas, pero con la llegada de algunos temporales aumentan considerablemente, llegando a ser un sitio para los surfistas novatos, debido también a la ausencia de rocas en el centro de la playa.Según el último IGE en el año 2007 tenía 39 habitantes (21 hombres e 18 mujeres).
