has glosseng: The Colton Liberty Flag is an American flag which is flown continuously over Mt. Slover in Colton, California. The flag was first raised by the California Portland Cement Company on July 4, 1917, to commemorate the entrance of the United States into World War I and the expected increased demand for cement that would come with it. At the time it was one of only three locations in the United States permitted to fly the flag at night.
