Der Florin war in 100 Cent unterteilt und ersetzte die Ostafrikanische Rupie im gleichen Wert. Ersetzt wurde er selbst durch den Ostafrikanischen Schilling, dessen Wert dem britischen Schilling entsprach und zwar im Austauschwert 2 Schilling = 1 Florin.
