In 2008, she was awarded the AriZoni Theatre Award of Excellence for Musical Direction, Youth Division. In 1988, she worked to establish the first school for homeless children in the Madison Shelter in Phoenix, Arizona. She published An Elementary Teachers Guide to Multiple Intelligences,Good Apple. Note: Her name appears as Dr. Elizabeth Rhodes Offutt in these publications.
