When the project was first started, the only reason for development was for the sheer fun of it, since the GBA could already play GB games natively. After Nintendo DS and Game Boy Micro were released, Goomba has had a boost in speed optimizations and features since neither of them work with GB games.

Когда проект только начался, единственным поводом для его развития было просто получение удовольствия от процесса, ведь при помощи GBA можно играть в GB изначально. После появления Nintendo DS и Game Boy Micro, развитие Goomba заметно ускорилось, стали добавляться новые возможности и ускоряться работа эмулятора, поскольку ни одна из перечисленных игровых приставок не поддерживает игры для GB.
