Elected to a four year term, the Governor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the functions of many of state government agencies and shares power in other agencies with publicly elected state cabinet heads. He or she works out of the Indiana Statehouse in Indianapolis and holds official functions at the Indiana Governor's Residence. Republican Mitch Daniels currently serves as the 49th Governor.
