It was founded in 1951 with the name of Nemzeti Bajnokság (National Championship), changing its name to Budapest Bank Handball League in 2006. The Budapest Bank Handball League, which is played under EHF rules, currently consists of 16 teams, including famous ones like MKB Veszprém KC, SC Pick Szeged and Dunaferr SE. Famous handball players who have played in the league include Carlos Perez, Zlatko Saračević, Mirza Džomba, Árpád Šterbik, László Nagy, Dániel Buday, Balázs Laluska, József Éles, Julio Fis, Rolando Uríos, Nenad Perunicić, Vlado Šola, Dejan Perić, Vladimir Hernandez and many others. |
