The prefix international was added in 1937. After Matthias Göring became the president as Carl Gustav Jung. The British physician Hugh Crichton-Miller served as the society's vice president. The society became defunct near the end of World War II.

has gloss	deu: Die Allgemeine Ärztliche Gesellschaft für Psychotherapie (AÄGP) war bis zum Zweiten Weltkrieg der weitaus mitgliederstärkste und schon deshalb bedeutendste Psychotherapeutenverband Deutschlands. Er ging Mitte der 1920er Jahre aus einer breiten Bewegung unter deutschen Medizinern hervor, denen sich sehr bald auch zahlreiche gleichgesinnte Kollegen aus anderen europäischen Ländern anschlossen.
