It is the ancient homeland of the Kanienkehaka (Mohawk) and had been re-established in September 1993 under the leadership of Thomas Porter, traditional Mohawk/Bear Clan and spiritual leader. The community must raise their own revenue and frequently hold cultural presentations, workshops, & academic events. There is also a craft shop on site which features only genuine handmade Native crafts from all over Turtle Island. |
