has gloss | eng: Route 1 Genesee County Route 1 is an North-South route that runs through the towns of Alexander, Bethany and Batavia. For almost its entire length, CR 1 roughly parallels New York State Route 98 that runs west of CR 1. County Route 1 begins its south end at NY 98 in the town of Alexander. At 0.71 miles CR 1 (named Stroh Road) intersects Spring Road. CR 1 continues north from here as Sandpit Road until reaching US 20 at 2.44 miles. CR 1 loses the name Sandpit and assumes Brokkville Road north of that intersection, and the roadway winds northeast. In the hamlet of East Alexander, Genesee CR 1 intersects West Bethany Road. Here CR 1 turns north and again changes names; this time assuming the name Creek Road with which it keeps to its end. Now route 1 heads north into the Town of Batavia. At 9.98 miles, County Route 1 reaches the Batavia City Line where the county route designation ends. |
