has gloss	eng: Maurício (Moisés) Bensaúde (also known professionally as Maurizio Bensaude) (13 February 1863, Ponta Delgada — 22 December 1912, Lisbon), was a Portuguese operatic baritone. He arrived in 1884 to Lisbon, where he received a short vocal training and even made his debut in the same year 1884 at the Teatro da Trinidad in Lisbon in the operetta "La petite mariée" by Charles Lecocq. He then went to another operetta of the Portuguese capital, the Teatro de D. Maria, where he appeared in operettas and musical comedies. However, he continued to operate the singing lessons and started towards the end of the eighties in order to take on operatic roles too. He quickly came to a very great success and could now produce an extensive international guest appearance work.

Manteve o nome Maurício como nome artístico até morrer. Biografia Moisés Bensaúde foi filho de Jacob Amiel Bensaúde (1830-1902) e Fortunata Tedeschi Conquy Azulay 1835-1900). O pai pertencia à família hebraica Bensaúde, originária de Marrocos e radicada nos Açores desde 1818, onde granjeara uma sólida fortuna.
