| has gloss | eng: Mustansar Hussain Tarar (Urdu: مستنصر حسين تارڑ) ( March 1, 1939) is one of the most famous personalities of Pakistan. He is a famous actor, writer, compere, high-altitude enthusiast and a mountaineer in his own right. Although most of his fame comes from his TV career and as a writer, Tarar is regarded as the biggest name and contributor to promoting tourism in Northern Areas of Pakistan. He has undertaken many tourism and trekking expeditions including extremely strenuous treks to places like K-2 base camp and through one of the world most dangerous chitti buoi glacier (chitti buoi literally means glacies with huge caravesses). He has written accounts of most of his treks in travelogues which, to some critics, sound more like a dramatized story or fiction. Tarar opines, to the concurrence of most adventure writers, that words and even pictures cannot encompass the astounding beauty of nature in its true spirit. |
