has gloss	eng: Packed red blood cells (PRBCs), also called "packed cells," are a preparation of red blood cells that are transfused to correct low blood levels in anemic patients. This increases the amount of hemoglobin in the blood that can carry oxygen perfused from alveoli of the lungs to tissues. One unit of PRBCs typically will raise the hematocrit by 3-4% and the blood hemoglobin concentration by 1 gm/dl. PRBCs last in refrigeration for up to 42 days, but under the right conditions they can be frozen for up to a decade.

has gloss	pol: Koncentrat krwinek czerwonych (KKCz, masa erytrocytarna, ME) – preparat stosowany w transfuzjologii powstały przez usunięcie z krwi pełnej części osocza. Przed przetoczeniem należy wykonać próbę zgodności. Wymagana jest zgodność w obrębie grupy krwi (AB0) oraz układu Rh. Preparat powinien być przechowywany w temperaturze +2 °C – +6 °C. W zależności od podłoża ma różny okres ważności: w płynie CDPA ważność wynosi 35 dni, a w płynie CPD z dodatkiem roztworów uzupełniających – 42 dni. Stosuje się go m.in. do leczenia niedokrwistości lub w transfuzji wymiennej u noworodków. Przetoczenie jednej jednostki KKCz powoduje wzrost hematokrytu o 3%, a poziomu hemoglobiny o 1 g%.
