It is connected to the mainland by a sandbar isthmus that floods regularly with the tides of the Minas Basin. The trail climbs quickly to a height of about 200 above sea level, but there are numerous benches to rest on. Your final destination is a look-off on which a viewing-platform offers stunning vistas of several coastal features of Nova Scotia. These sites include Cape Split, Cape Dor, Minas Basin, and Cobequid Bay. At dusk many lighthouses can been seen on the coasts surrounding Partridge Island. |
