has gloss	eng: Pir literally "old [person]") is a title for a Sufi master equally used in the nath tradition. They are also referred to as a Hazrat or Shaikh, which is Arabic for Old Man. The title is often translated into English as "saint". In Sufism a Pir's role is to guide and instruct his disciples on the Sufi path. This is often done by general lessons (called Suhbas) and individual guidance. Other words that refer to a Pir include, Murshid (, meaning "guide" or "teacher"), Sheikh and Sarkar (Persian/Hindi/Urdu word meaning Master, Lord).

has gloss	rus: Пир (старец; ) — в езидской теологии приобрел широкий смысл — дух, мастер, покровитель. В обычном понимании — священнослужитель, духовная каста. Пиры делятся на несколько десятков родов: Хасмаман, Омархали, Пир Бари, Пир Челе, Пир Али, Пир Исебиа, Пир Махмуд, Пир Джарван, Пир Дербес, Пир Хани и т. д. Во главе пиров стоит род Хасмаманов, который является пиром сорока пиров. У остальных пиров есть свои пиры: для Пир Бари пиром является Мамарашан, для Хасланаков — Хаджи Махмад и др.
