has gloss	eng: \| \|} The RV Atlantis was the first research vessel operated by the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. Several ships are named after it, as well as the Space Shuttle Atlantis. It now serves the Prefectura Naval Argentina as the Dr. Bernardo A. Houssay and is the oldest serving oceanographic scientific vessel with over 1,300,000 miles under its belt. It is undergoing a major servicing in the Tandanor shipyard in Buenos Aires. The rebuild is scheduled to end in late 2009.

Es ist eine 460 Tonnen schwere Ketsch, die mit zwei Masten ausgestattet ist. Die Atlantis war das erste Schiff der USA, das für ozeanografische Forschungen verwendet wurde. Es war weiterhin der Namensgeber für die Raumfähre Atlantis.
