Samuel im Gebirge Ephraim befunden haben soll, das damals im Herrschaftsbereich des israelischen Stämmeverbands lag. Die genaue Lage des Ortes konnte bis heute nicht ausgemacht werden. Die heutige israelische Stadt Ramla ist entgegen der landläufigen Meinung nicht identisch mit Rama.
