Founded in 1994, following the 1994 FIFA World Cup, the group was intended to emulate well-known supporters of other national teams such as Scotlands Tartan Army, and now has over 15,000 members. The group is best known for appearing en masse (in numbers of 1,000 or more) at all United States matches worldwide. Members dress in red, sing songs and chants, display huge American flags and banners, and stand throughout each match. |
