has gloss	eng: Tem Barkwater is a fictional character in the childrens book series The Edge Chronicles. He appears in Clash of the Sky Galleons, Beyond the Deepwoods, Stormchaser, and Freeglader. He first appears serving under Wind Jackal on the Galerider and follows Quint after Wind Jackals death. We are told that Quint found him being whipped in the Timber Glades by a wood merchant. Quint repays the merchant in kind and rescues Tem, who is soon taken under the wing of Steg Jambles. During this time, he reveals that he and his brother were forced to work as tarry vine bait for wood merchants attempting to get hold of Bloodoak timber. He was whipped for helping his brother to escape. He joins Spillins, the Stone Pilot and Duggin in a sky ferry business between Clash of the Sky Galleons and Beyond the Deepwoods.
