Information
has glosseng: Zeroth is a coined ordinal number corresponding to the number zero; it may either refer to an object or value that does not (originally) belong to a given sequence, but which could be naturally placed before its initial (first) element, or it may refer to the initial element of a 0-based sequence, where element number 0 is the initial element of the sequence. The correctness of using this ordinal form of "zero" is not universally agreed upon. While the term "zeroth" is not itself ambiguous, it creates ambiguity for all subsequent elements of the sequence when lacking context, since they are called "first", "second", etc. in conflict with the normal everyday meanings of those words.
