Il est chanté à la synagogue le vendredi soir à la tombée de la nuit pour accueillir le chabbat avant la prière de Maariv. Le titre de ce chant peut être traduit par : « Viens, mon bien-aimé » ce qui peut se référer aussi bien à Dieu quà un ami que lon invite à se joindre à soi pour célébrer le chabbat qui est vu ici comme un mariage ainsi que lindique la suite de la phrase, likrat kallah, au-devant de ta fiancée. Lassemblée se tourne en direction de la porte de la synagogue pour chanter le dernier couplet afin de célébrer chabbat hamalka, la Reine shabbat. |
